This Syrian doctor provided first aid to a local girl who was injured by a military vehicle and rescued by Arthur Howe, Jr. and others. The child's parents, as a sign of gratitude, invited Arthur Howe, Jr., the Syrian doctor, and Jack Hill Skinner (from the New Zealand Expeditionary Force) to go on a bird hunting trip in the mountains above Zahleh.
