Demolished Railroad Viaduct | Archives of the American Field Service and AFS Intercultural Programs
Title:
Demolished Railroad Viaduct
Date:
1944 January
Description:
In our billet in Termoli, I remember finding a Fascist Magazine proudly showing pictures of this Coastal Railroad when it was new. It was touted as one of the great achievements of the Fascist Regime.
It had been demolished, now, by Hitler’s retreating army. I couldn’t help thinking that Italy would have been far better off if they had stayed out of the Fascist Axis altogether.
Location: The Coastal RR [Railroad] along the Adriatic.
