Title:
Thomas W. Shepard in his Jeep
Date:
1945
Description:
Thomas W. Shepard's Note: "This is myself resting in my jeep before a Burmese Buddhist temple. We had just pushed on into Mandalay and there was not a sign of a person or a dog or a cat -- absolutely empty. Very wierd [sic]. The rectangular racks are for holding 2 stretchers with wounded. Walking wounded would sit anywhere they could on the jeep. We could carry 2 wounded and 5 walking sitting in the jeep."
