Title:
Myself in Breeches Buoy With Dislocated Shoulder
Date:
1944 April
Description:

I am about to be transferred from the Liberty Ship, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, to the Destroyer Escort along side, in order to have the Navy Doctor reduce my dislocated shoulder.

In our joy to be going home at the end of our term of AFS service, we were celebrating by playing leap-frog on deck. When the ship lurched, I caught my hand under a hatchcover strap and fell forward, dislocating my shoulder.

Location: Liberty Ship Convoy in Mid-Atlantic.
